The Dental Association of Thailand Participates in Strategic Planning Seminar with the Dental Council.
On July 18–19, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Siriwimon Srisawat, President of the Dental Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, participated in a strategic planning seminar hosted by the 11th-term Dental Council (2025–2028) at the “Bhumiporpiang” Dhamma Practice Center in Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
The seminar aimed to gather input and develop strategic directions for the current Council term. Discussions were structured around three key areas.
1. Dental Education
The group revisited the criteria for dental curriculum accreditation and evaluation, along with a review of the effectiveness and efficiency of the national dental licensing examination process. Further discussions focused on enhancing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to ensure continuous and sustainable professional growth among dentists.
2. Dental Services
Topics included the establishment of standards for mobile dental units and negotiations for improved healthcare benefits for the public. The goal is to maximize benefits for patients and create incentives for dentists to actively participate in the public health system.
3. Public Relations and Legal Affairs
Strategies were explored to improve dentists’ understanding of laws and regulations related to the profession and dental clinics. The session also addressed efforts to streamline and improve the efficiency, fairness, and transparency of disciplinary processes. In addition, the public relations team’s role in disseminating useful information, news, and knowledge to both the public and dental professionals was emphasized.
The seminar was marked by productive discussions and a collaborative spirit among participants, all working toward the development of concrete strategies to raise professional standards and meet societal needs in a sustainable way.
The participation of the President of the Dental Association of Thailand underscored the Association’s active role in shaping policies and guiding the direction of the Thai dental profession in close collaboration with the Dental Council—for the benefit of both the profession and the public.
